Telkom and Krakatau Steel Sent 20 Students to Lampung To Learn About Archipelago

Director of Human Capital Management PT. Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) Herdy Harman in Serang, today (19/7), officially released as many as 20 students of Banten to join student exchange program "Learning About Nusantara" to Lampung Province. Herdy said The Program is an excellent opportunity for students to practice their Digital Mindset to access and utilize the information available from all over the world so as to provide value both for themselves and the surrounding environment.

According to Herdy Harman, through this program, students as school and regional ambassadors can share their knowledge and information about the arts, culture, society, and economy, so as to strengthen the sense of brotherhood, unity, and national unity.

He hopes the participants will not only be the best in Indonesia but also the best in the international arena.

Telkom strongly supports the Program as part of an active role to support the nation's progress. "Telkom, as part of the Indonesian Nation must always strive to support the progress of the nation that begins by improving the quality of the young generation of achievement," said Herdy. According to him, Telkom entered the schools to provide internet access and digital libraries to add and open more insight for students to be more competitive, especially in the face of global competition.

Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary of Banten Province, Ranta Soeharta, expressed his appreciation to Telkom and Krakatau Steel for their support to the community, especially students in Banten Province. Through the program, Ranta hopes that students can learn from each other Indonesian culture.

Regarding this program, Telkom and PT Krakatau Steel in collaboration with the Provincial Education Office of Banten conducted a selection to select 20 students from all secondary schools representing all cities/regencies in Banten Province. Initial debriefing to selected participants was conducted on June 10, 2017. The debriefing included national insights and insights on SOEs as well as the development of motivation. The 20 students from Banten will be in Lampung for eight days.

Meanwhile, as many as 20 participants from Lampung will arrive at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Thursday (20/7) to get to know the culture and economic potential of the people of Banten Province in the same program. In a series of activities in Banten, the participants had the opportunity to visit some perpetrators of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) built by Telkom, Bedouin Village and PT Krakatau Steel.

The program has been implemented since 2015, followed by 632 students in 2015 and 679 students by 2016. This program is expected to become an annual routine that will be conducted regularly in the coming years, making it an ongoing program.

In this student exchange activity, participants and accompanying teachers will follow a series of visits and activities, including educational / academic dimensions, socio-cultural dimensions, including art, cultural heritage and natural diversity and entrepreneurial dimensions, which include studying the economic potential of the local area.

The program is one of corporate social responsibility (CSR) program of SOEs Present for the State initiated by the Ministry of SOEs. SMN aims to create a sense of pride as a nation that has a diversity of Nusantara wealth, through the process of information and cultural exchange.

The implementation of the activities is facilitated by all BUMNs that have working areas in 34 provinces throughout Indonesia, as well as being part of "building stakeholder understanding" on the role of the Ministry of SOEs and SOEs in participating "Building the National Capacity Building through generations Younger successor of the nation ".
